LJ Update

We're a week away from teams being able to sign free agents to contracts, but don't expect a decision from Lauren Jackson on her future so quickly. That was the message from Jackson in an interview with the Daily Telegraph of Sydney.

"I think at the moment I have to decide on both (options), yeah both - whether to play in the WNBA and if so, with which team," Jackson told the paper. "I don't want to jump into anything that I can't fulfil right now. I don't know how I might feel in a couple of months' time.

"I have to make a decision and it's going to be a big one. It could impact on the rest of my career."
In the rest of the story, Jackson talks about her love for the city of Seattle and her happiness with the Storm. It's a must-read.

Nice to see LJ getting some love from other teams, but I really hope if she decides to return to the WNBA next year, it's in a Storm uniform.

I agree. The other teams would be mad not to approach her but I just hope she comes back to the Storm. Especially as it is the 10th Year. She is such a huge part of those years.

She's gone.. those comments just look like I'm out of here but not ready to say it. Maybe I'm just getting myself ready for the worst, but it truly seems to me like we've seen the last of LJ in a Storm uniform. I really do hope that I'm wrong. My guess, she'll be in Phoenix with Di and PT.

penny taylor will not be playing for the mercury this year.

it was reported earlier.

That conclusion is a bit strong, but it was reported today that Taylor will have surgery on her ankle in May, which will make it difficult for her to play in the WNBA this season:

Didn't know about PT... My bad on that one. I still think that she's gone, or taking a year off. Her statements in the article just come across to me like thanks for the memories. I'd be thrilled to be wrong in the end on this one. I love LJ and I'm not getting any vibe that she's coming back. Sorry.

Kevin, I know we are only 24 hours into free agency, but do you have any insight into what teams are doing? Rumors abound, like Parker's pregnant and the Sparks have signed Braxton to an offer sheet, and the Storm have signed Kraayveld to an offer sheet....what's the rest of the story?

We're not really in position to comment on the rumors. Until those deals become official - and I suspect that will start happening sooner rather than later - there's not much I can say.
