O'Neill to Miss Camp: Your Reaction
Aaron Last/Storm Photos
It's a sad day in the Storm offices, with the news that Kristen O'Neill will not be attending training camp after suffering a knee injury overseas which would prevent her from being 100 percent in camp. If you haven't already, check out my feature where O'Neill explains the reasoning behind her decision, primarily based in giving another player the opportunity she had last year to come to training camp and try to make the roster.
Naturally, as a Seattle-area native and a product of the University of Washington, O'Neill has been a big-time fan favorite dating back to last year's training camp. If you'd like to share your thoughts on having O'Neill on the roster and your encouragement going forward, please do so in the comments here.

Kristen, you're a classy act both on the court and off. Best to you on your rehab (my old, worn-out knees feel your pain!), and hope you're back in the thick of it again soon here in Seattle.
Kristen, It was a pleasure watching you live your dream in a Storm uniform last year. Hopefully you will get another chance to improve your game overseas and get another shot at the WNBA in the future. Don't be a stranger, come take in a game or two this summer. There are fans that would love to see you, even if your'e not on the floor
Wow, it's been great having Kristen on the Storm. I'm really sad I won't get to cheer her on this year. All I can say she will really be missed. All the best!
kristen, sad to not have you on the team and hear of your injury. As i was part of the wonderful welcome you recieved each time you came to the floor and know that you would have made a real difference for the storm if given more than 3 minutes a game, your overseas preformance shows the great game you have and i hope we get another chance for you to show your game to us. best of luck and happiness.
Kristen, you have the heart of a champion. Thank you for your energy, your enthusiasm, and your passion.
Your absence is our loss . . . for you brought it to the floor and to our community all last year. It was an honor to cheer you on!
Once again, Kristen O'Neill shows us what a class act she is. There could not be a better role model for all of us than her example of a thoughtful, courageous, self-less athlete. She embodies all that is good in the WNBA, and I look forward to her fast recovery and seeing her in the Storm colors back on the court.
Kristen, I'm very sad you won't be returning for training camp. But I echo the sentiment that you are a class act. Please take care of yourself and heal. I hope you will be able to grace the boards for the Storm again some day in the future
Kristen!!!!
I'm sad to see you go but I'm so happy that you are doing something so nice for someone else. You are a great person and I wish I could have seen you play a little more for the Storm but I'm sure I'll get to see you play again someday, in Seattle or anywhere else! Good luck with your rehab and your career!
Really sorry to see Kristen go - but know that decision was not made lightly. With Kristen it is 100% or nothing.. A lot of professional players could take a page out of her book - for her honesty, commitment, humility, work ethic, kindness, loyalty.. The list is endless.... Best wishes to her in whatever she chooses to do....... her Irish Family are thinking of her.
Anyone who knows Kristen isn't surprised by this act of selflessness. She is one who always puts others before herself.
She is a wonderful person and a great role model for so many to emulate.
championship teams at all levels have a kristen o'neill stalwart personality.......yah-yah-yah.......go kristen-go kristen.......
